The Russo Brothers Team Up With Millie Bobby Brown For Netflix’s ‘The Electric State’

Chris Pratt is currently in talks to team up with Avengers: Endgame directors

Netflix has announced their next venture with the Russo brothers. The ace directing duo had collaborated with the streamer for The Gray Man, which is all set to release this July. Next up is another big-budget production, known as The Electric State. Netflix has been in negotiations for the rights of the movie for nearly half a year, as the movie previously landed in the hands of Universal. Once they finalized it, brought the Russo brothers without missing a beat. Let’s learn more about the movie and its cast.

The movie is based on the acclaimed 2018 novel of the same name by written and illustrated by Simon Stålenhag. It tells the story of an orphaned teenager who is on a journey across western America, which has a retro-future look to it. She is accompanied by a mysterious but sweet robot, and an eccentric drifter. Her mission is to locate her missing younger brother.

The Russo brothers have already roped in Millie Bobby Brown, the breakout star of Stranger Things in the role of the lead character. Meanwhile, Chris Pratt, who had worked with the Russos on Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame is in talks to co-star with Brown.

The Russo brothers have a set of collaborators who will be joining them for this movie as well. This includes their production company AGBO, and its co-founder Mike Larocca. Other producers include Patrick Newall and Chris Castaldi. Executive producers include Angela Russo-Ostot, Jake Aust, Geoff Haley, and Markus McFeely.

The movie will be starting production in October in Atlanta.
