Not a surprise, but still much awaited
Tonikaku Kawaii, or TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You was not well-known to the anime community like most others. However, that did not stop it from being a surprise hit. The cute romantic story, with a fantasy attached behind, gave us wonderful episode after wonderful episode, and left fans wanting more.
The first season premiered in October 2020, and the second season was announced at the end. No further announcements were given in the months that followed, but we got an original video anime (OVA), which was included in the series’ Blu-ray Disc.
The story
The romantic comedy tells the story of how a boy named Nasa Yuzaki meets a “generally cute” girl named Tsukasa on the day of his high school entrance exams, falling in love instantly. Nasa confesses his love, but the mysterious girl said that she will only go out with him if they get married. Flash forward to our boy’s 18th birthday, and she appears just as promised. The two begin a newlywed lifestyle, even though they are not married. In fact, even their families didn’t know what was going on.
But they had enough money since Nasa didn’t bother studying after high school and did various jobs while hoping to find Tsukasa in the three years since their first meeting. Once Tsukasa got used to their “married” life, she found a job at the bathhouse where Nasa and the nearby townspeople went to.
Release date
We are unaware of the exact date, but since they stated that the new episode will release soon, we won’t have to wait long. Crunchyroll also announced that the anime will stream inNorth America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS.
