“People Deserve a Second Chance”: Kim Kardashian West’s Criminal Justice Reform Work

Kim Kardashian has decided to fight a battle against mass-incarceration

Kim Kardashian West, who is famously known for ‘Keeping Up with Kardashians,’ hasn’t limited her reach to just entertainment or business, the 39-year-old has moved to criminal justice reform work. She is working to get a second lease of life for those who have been a victim of America’s mass-incarceration.

The TV personality, entrepreneur and model joined forces with Oxygen to create her latest television endeavour titled ‘Kim Kardashian West: The Justice Project.’ It’s a two-hour documentary that will focus on the criminal reform crisis and it will highlight the plight of individuals who have been affected by the criminal justice system. It will feature Kardashian West visiting prisons and working alongside the legal experts on four cases- Dawn Jackson, Alexis Martin, Momolu Stewart,and David Sheppard, they believe have been sentenced unjustly.

The documentary will release on our screen on 5th April, however, Oxygen has released a trailer for the same which was shared by her on her Instagram page. The trailer starts with Kim addressing the mass incarceration problem in the United States as the team makes their way to the prison. The trailer gave an inkling of the ordeal of some prisoners whom ‘The Justice Project’ team thought, are unfairly convicted while the convicts were full of praises for Kim’s efforts for them.

Kim gave a brief look at the letter she has been receiving, begging her to help them. getting emotional, she said that she got into this knowing nothing, and then heart completely opened up, referring to people’s plights.”

Slamming the criticism surrounding her documentary, Kim said that she is not doing for publicity. She said that she is used to criticism now so nothing fazes her. She is genuinely focussed on the case and people as she really cares.

She also informed that she plans on giving Bar in the year 2022 as she has been studying for the 4-year apprenticeship programme in California and completed the first year of it which she aced. Kim’s dad, late Robert Kardashian was also a lawyer, so we know how where does Kim gets her passion for justice.
