The song will debut on December 11
MAMAMOO‘s Wheein is teaming up with her friend and singer Ailee for a holiday-themed single!
The duo dropped the first teaser of their upcoming collaboration on December 6 at midnight KST. The song is titled “Solo Christmas.”
Joining the same label
Wheein and Ailee are also labelmates, after joining THE L1VE, an all-new label found by VIXX’s Ravi. Wheein had been part of RBW along with the rest of her MAMAMOO bandmates, but signed on to the new one on August 31, 2021 on an exclusive contract. However, she has still signed a deal with RBW to promote MAMAMOO for two more years. She is the only member in the girl group to not renew her official contract. The other members, Moonbyul, Hwasa, and Solar had all renewed their contracts earlier this year. Wheein is expected to stay with MAMAMOO until at least December 2023, and will continue to participate in future albums and concerts.
Ailee had been part of multiple labels since she started her career in 2011. The 32-year-old was last associated with Rcket3 before moving on to THE L1VE.
Recent appearances
Ailee had recently been on the news after releasing her highly anticipated third studio album Amy, featuring the hit single ‘Don’t Touch Me,’ a different version of her old song. There were also the songs, ‘Make Up Your Mind’ and ‘Spring Flowers’ from Lovin’, her mini album from May. She was also seen recently on It’s Live, where she performed a rock version of EXO’s hit single ‘Growl.’
Wheein and Ailee maintain a good friendship, and we last got to see them together over a month ago when Wheein surprised Ailee during her birthday live fan interaction with a cake.
