Potterheads unite! We are officially getting a reunion of the Harry Potter cast!
Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint with director Chris Columbus and the rest of the cast members who had appeared across the eight movies of the pop-culture phenomena will appear in a special episode for HBO Max. After all, the first film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, from where it all began, is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
Returning to Hogwarts
The 20th anniversary celebration special is titled ‘Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts.’ It is set for a global premiere on HBO Max on the New Year’s Day, January 1, 2022. The other alumni who will join the golden trio are Helena Bonham Carter aka Bellatrix Lestrange, Robbie Coltrane aka Rubeus Hagrid, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs aka Lucius Malfoy, Gary Oldman aka Sirius Black, Imelda Staunton, Tom Felton aka Draco Malfoy, James Phelps & Oliver Phelps aka the Weasley twins, Mark Williams aka Arthur Weasley, Bonnie Wright aka Ginny Weasley, Alfred Enoch, Matthew Lewis, Evanna Lynch and Ian Hart and many more…
As per HBO Max, the anniversary special will include how each movie was made, in-depth interviews, and conversations between the cast members. Tom Aschiem, president of Warner Bros. Global Kids, Young Adults and Classics stated that the Harry Potter movies had an incredible journey since the premiere of Sorcerer’s Stone. The franchise touched the hearts of the cast, crew, and millions fans who continue to stay invested in it.
Official first look
A first look on the special will be shown during the premiere of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses on November 28, airing on TBS and Cartoon Network. Helen Mirren will be the anchoring that’d have fans competing for the Tournament of Houses championship trophy on the occasion of 20th anniversary. The event will be graced by the special appearances from everyone’s favourite Tom Felton, Simon Fisher-Becker, Shirley Henderson and Luke Youngblood. The event will be available on HBO Max on Jan.1 for viewing.
