Attack on Titan Season 4, Part 2 Might Not Be the End of the Popular Series!

Does this mean the ending will also be changed?

Just when you thought Attack on Titan is ending with the upcoming season, new information arrives.

The series is all set to release the second half of its final season this month, but only twelve episodes have been announced. This led to doubts that perhaps they won’t be wrapping everything up in this season either.

Things so far

We will keep spoilers away, but if you are a fan of the show, you know that Attack on Titan gives a good deal of fan service when it comes to fights and important plot points. We get longer fights, and a deeper insight into the lives of important characters, both from Eldia and Marley. This is why it feels like twelve episodes are far too less. The first part of season 4 consisted of 16 episodes, and even that wasn’t able to reach the point where we expected it to reach. More stuff is going on, and new characters, as well as the secrets of the titans are popping up, so we will need a minimum of 16 episodes, if not more.

We currently feel that Studio MAPPA, the animation studio behind Attack on Titan might make a movie to reap more benefits. MAPPA recently released Jujutsu Kaisen 0, a prequel movie to the 2020 anime, which became a massive success in Japan. This would’ve definitely given them the idea to go the same route with Attack on Titan.

Many fans weren’t expecting to see that season 4 will also be split into two parts like season 3. MAPPA throwing another curveball saying the finale will now be shown in a movie might disappoint many of us.

This even gives way to doubts that they might change the ending. Many didn’t like the way Attack on Titan ended, even though in my personal opinion, creator Hajime Isayama wrapped it up the best way he could. But even if that was the case, waiting until 2023 to see how the series ends can be a major downer.
