Netflix has reportedly renewed ‘Shadow and Bone’ for a second season

The first season will hit the streamer on April 23

A recent report claimed that Netflix has renewed it’s fantasy drama series Shadow and Bone for a second season ahead of season 1’s premiere.

This source has a reputation of being right since they had previously leaked information on shows like Ozark, Fate: The Winx Saga, and Warrior Nun, all of which got renewed shortly. The other shows whose renewals had been officially announced include Umbrella Academy, Space Force, On My Block, and Locke & Key.

About the series

Netflix

Shadow and Bone is a fantasy drama series created for Netflix by Eric Heisserer and 21 Laps Entertainment. Season one will hit Netflix globally on April 23, 2021.

The series is based on the novels, the Grisha trilogy, (where Shadow and Bone is the first novel) and the Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo. The Shadow and Bone novel is narrated by a teenage orphan named Alina Starkov, who grew up in the land of Ravka, inspired by Russia, when her life changes completely after she harnesses a power she didn’t know she had in an attempt to save her best friend.

Will there be more seasons?

Netflix

We can’t say yet if there will be more of Shadow and Bone. But like The Irregulars, the show has been renewed before it released, so it’s clear that Netflix has a lot of confidence on the show’s success. We will to wait till we see how the show performs when it comes out this April.

But know that the streamer didn’t officially confirm the news yet, so there’s a tiny chance that it won’t happen as well. It can get announced sometime after the premiere.
