Batman: Arkham Knight could be receiving an upgrade for Xbox Series X/S, Microsoft hints

The information was provided in the official Xbox website

An image on an official Xbox Wire post regarding updates for the Microsoft Store suggests that  Batman: Arkham Knight may receive a next-gen upgrade so that it suits the Xbox Series X/S. The game, which came out in 2015, still has graphics that could compete against today’s games, and would definitely exceed if given 4K resolution and 60 FPS capabilities.

Both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S have allowed numerous last-gen game titles to receive an overhaul so that they reach their full potential. The recent game to receive such an upgrade from Xbox was Overwatch, which now comes with three different modes for graphics settings – Resolution, Balanced, and Framerate. As of now, the PlayStation 5 hasn’t given such an upgrade, but Sony is still improving the performance of older titles and the Final Fantasy VII Remake is one such example.

Coming back to the Xbox Wire post, it was one that showed improvements to the Microsoft Store on Xbox and the Xbox Game Pass app with a screenshot of the store’s interface. There was a square box in the middle of this image which showed Batman: Arkham Knight box art. We can’t yet guarantee that the game will be receiving next-gen treatment or if it was just used for representation, since both Microsoft or WB Games haven’t confirmed anything.

Graphical boosts will be great for a title such as Batman: Arkham Knight as the game’s combat and open world can be greatly enhanced with the new graphics and 60 frames per second speed. Whether it comes or not, we still have good news since Gotham Knights, starring the Bat Family will be coming soon.
