Spider-Man 2 is a PS5 Exclusive; It’ll Not be Available for Cross Gen

Insomniac Games is now officially part of the PlayStation family

The other day, Insomniac Games unveiled two big titles during the PlayStation Showcase. The first is the sequel to 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man, also known as Spider-Man PS4. The second title is Wolverine, which is also in development.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales came out in November 2020 as part of the PS5’s release. However, the game was cross generational, meaning it can be played in both consoles. Above all, the purpose was for gamers to appreciate the capabilities of the PS5. Meanwhile, PS4 players weren’t left behind.

Insomniac Games shared important information regarding the game on the official PlayStation Blog. Firstly, they mentioned that the game won’t be releasing on the PS4 family of consoles. Secondly, players who own both the base or the all-digital versions of the PS5 can play the game upon release.

The reason is because Insomniac wants to take full advantage of the new console. The trailer was comprised of in-game footage and it looked nothing short of amazing. Insomniac only keeps rising with each game title, and with this, they’re going to reach new heights. They teased that Venom will be one of the primary villains, and Spider-Man will be receiving new suits and skills to face off against the notorious symbiote.

Insomniac Games and Marvel Games’ partnership shows no signs of stopping as both teams are actively working on the two games. Wolverine will also be making the best use of the PS5 system, and will have an emotional and heroic story to back up the stunning visuals.

Fans are still struggling to get hold of a PS5 console, and fans of Spider-Man may have to get hold of one before 2023.
