Recently, netizens went all berserk against the Duke and Duchess of Sussex Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The netizens accused them of not practicing what they preach. This was about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle taking four private jets in eleven days.
The Duke and Duchess claim themselves to be ‘eco-friendly’ and constantly urge others to minimize their carbon footprints. Last month, Prince Harry attended a climate change summit organized by Google in Sicily. Harry also delivered a speech aimed to save the environment at the summit.
But Harry had taken a private jet to Sicily. Later, both Harry and Meghan with their 3 months old son again took a private jet to and from Ibiza, where they went to celebrate Meghan’s birthday.
All these events stirred the netizens and the couple was accused of double standards. However, Elton John came forward to announce that he had funded the jets. He mentioned that he made efforts to ensure that the flight was carbon neutral. He also added that the private jet was provided to maintain the security of Harry and Meghan.
Later, Ellen DeGeneres and Pink also came to the rescue of the royal couple. Both took to Twitter to show their support. Pink tweeted against those who reprimanded Harry and Meghan calling those people bullies. She asked people to be kinder and appreciated those who came forward in support of the couple.
On the other hand, Ellen tweeted about the couple’s work on wildlife conservation. She wrote that Harry and Meghan are very down to earth and compassionate. They both are trying to make the world a better place so it is unjustified to bash them in such a way.
Other famous personalities like Patricia Arquette and Labour MP David Lammy also came forward in support of Harry and Meghan.
