The New Look: Ben Mendelsohn & Juliette Binoche’s Apple TV+ Series Drops Teasers

All Set To Produce Apple TV+ Drama Series

The New Look, a World War II-set drama about fashion titans Christian Dior and Coco Chanel. The drama will be starring Emmy winner Ben Mendelsohn and Oscar winner Juliette Binoche. It has received a series order from Apple TV+.

About The Drama

‘The New Look’ is the newest fashion-themed scripted series to air on FX. Furthermore, it follows the second season American Crime Story. That season won Emmy nominations for limited series and lead actor Darren Criss, among other things.

The drama is set to film exclusively in Paris and is inspired by true events. Apple says The New Look is an “epic thriller” that “centers on the pivotal moment in the 20th century. However, when Paris led the world back to life through its fashion icons. Including Christian Dior, whose creations dominated world fashion in the decade following World War II. The interwoven saga will include the surprising stories of Dior’s contemporaries and rivals: the grand dame Coco Chanel, Balmain, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Pierre Cardin, Yves Saint Laurent and more.

Apple Studios created the series in-house. It is the first project for Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Transformers, Salt) and Kessler’s newly formed producing collaboration. Mark A. Baker, a Bloodline alum, will produce.

The project comes as Apple, the streaming service and iPhone maker, continues to add to its star-studded roster of scripted originals. The recently ordered musicians will be featuring on the platform’s roster. Mrs. American Pie, a comedy starring Kristen Wiig, Jared Leto, and Anne Hathaway, stars in the drama WeCrashed. Next are The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey, starring Samuel L. Jackson, and The Changeling, starring LaKeith Stanfield.
