Scarlett Johansson to lead the upcoming Series Just Cause

Scarlett Johansson will take on her first lead role in the TV series and simultaneously will revisit one of the first roles of her career.

Scarlett Johansson will star in the executively produced Just Cause, a limited Amazon series that be featured in Amazon’s Prime Video.

The TV series Just Cause is based on a 1992 novel by John Katzenbach. The Amazon streamer has given a straight-to-series order to the project from Warner Bros. TV and writer Christy Hall.

The novel was previously adapted for a 1995 film feature starring Sean Connery. Scarlett Johansson, in one of her first movie roles, played the daughter of Connery’s character.

The series Just Cause version will center on Madison Coward’s “Madi” played by Scarlett Johansson. Madison Cowart a reporter for a Florida newspaper who was assigned to cover the final days of a death row inmate and comes to believe the prisoner’s claim of innocence.

Johansson’s These Pictures banner will be produced by the Warner Bros. TV Hall will executively produce along with Johansson and These Picture’s Jonathan Li and Keenan Flynn.

The company’s head of television, Zara Duff will oversee the project, Just Cause.

Scarlett Johansson is currently filming Project Artemis for director Greg Berlanti and Apple TV+.

The two-time Oscar nominee, Scarlett Johansson who previously worked with Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City and Kristin Scott Thomas’ My Mother’s Wedding on deck ended her run in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with 2021’s Black Window.

Johansson’s last movie of the Black Widow series

The last Black Widow movie shows the death of Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow when Belove encounters Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.

Belova received the next assignment to take down Clint Barton, the man she claimed to be responsible for Romanoff’s death.
