Samuel L. Jackson feels that he should have won an Oscar for his performance in Pulp Fiction

Samuel L. Jackson is disappointed at the Academy Awards

Samuel L. Jackson feels that he deserved the Oscar for his performance in the 1994 movie Pulp Fiction. Directed by Quentin Tarantino, Jackson played the role of Jules Winnfield (a religious hitman) in the film. Tarantino even won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.

Jackson did receive a nomination for the Best Supporting Role in 1995. But Martin Landau bagged the award for his portrayal in the Tim Burton movie Ed Wood.

I should have won that one“, said Jackson in an interview

During a recent interview with The Times, the 73-year-old actor said that he should have won the award for Pulp Fiction. He added that he missed out on another Oscar for his performance in “Jungle Fever” since he wasn’t even nominated for the role. The Hitman’s Bodyguard star still cannot believe that two cast members from “Bugsy” got the opportunity to enter the race instead of him.

Jackson commented that the Black folk probably have a better chance of winning if they do despicable stuff on screen. To support his statement, he gave an example of Denzel Washington, who played a bad cop in “Training Day”.

Jackson comments that the Oscars cannot affect his bank balance

Regarding the voice of the masses who want a most popular movie category at the Oscars, the Glass actor fully supported the motion. He added that the Oscars should also throw light on movies that were able to get “asses in seats”. And he has done a great job in doing that for several years. Jackson said that every year’s highest grossing movie should get an award since that’s what the business is all about.
