Marvel’s Moon Knight Official Trailer is Out, And It’s Looking Dark and Crazy

“There is chaos in you”

We have finally received the official trailer for Marvel Studios’ Moon Knight, and it’s looking fantastic! Moon Knight, aka Marc Spector (Oscar Isaac) is one of the most complex characters in the Marvel world, and brings a varied range of emotions that we don’t normally see in other heroes. But before we get to that, let’s do the trailer breakdown.

Trailer review

Ethan Hawke in Moon Knight
Marvel Studios

The trailer did a good job in making us understand the tone of the series. Right from the get-go, we can see that our protagonist is someone who cannot know the different between dreams and being awake. He even has a leash tying his leg to the bedpost so that he doesn’t do anything crazy in between his sleep schedule. Another notable feature is him talking in a British accent, living in London, and calling himself Steven. But we soon realise through an anonymous phone call that his name is Marc, and Steven is just an identity that he’s created.

The show gives some Fight Club and Mr. Robot vibes with the dissociative identity disorder of Marc.

We get a brief look into his daily life, the hallucinations, and the disruptions to his work. He is constantly seeing things, which can’t be differentiated between real and hallucinations. We also see Ethan Hawke as Arthur Harrow, a cult leader. In the comics, he’s a scientist with many shady secrets. The MCU can make changes to his character. In the trailer, we can see him taking a likeness to Marc.

The suit

The suit looks pretty comic accurate, except for the design that looks similar to bandages covering a mummy. But that does add more authenticity to the character, and he is truly a menacing presence with the glowing white eyes and flowing cape.

Overall, Moon Knight looks very promising, and we are hoping that Marvel makes the series dark like Netflix’s Darwdevil and Punisher, with less jokes and more violence and chaos.

Moon Knight comes out on Disney+ on March 30. Stay tuned.
