Mad Max Prequel Furiosa to Begin Shooting Earlier than Expected in Australia!

The post-apocalyptic film, Mad Max Furiosa, the prequel to Mad Max, has reportedly started shooting ahead of its scheduled time.

Directed by George Miller, fans have been waiting for a sequel to Mad Max ever since it hit theaters in 2015. Whereas after a long delay it was clear that the sequel was not on the director’s plate. But now fans have got an even bigger surprise with its prequel. In this prequel, fans will be set on the journey of Furiosa.

Production started

The shooting of Furiosa will begin in Australia in the next few months, possibly in March. After Fury Road, Miller is working as a director this time too, taking the command of the film in his hands.

It is reported that the production team had approached New South Wales to set the shooting schedule. Hotels have been booked in Broken Hill and Murrumbidgee River for the crew to stay. It is rumoured that there are cats and crew from the 800s who went to New South Wales for a shoot.

Cast

In the Mad Max prequel part, we will see Anya Taylor-Joy, she will take up the character f Charlize Theron who was part of the 2015 film. Alongside her, Chris Hemsworth and Tom Burke will be seen. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will play Young Morpheus.

The movie is written by Australian actor and writer Nick Lathouris and Australian filmmaker George Miller.

Release Date 

The film is scheduled to release in theatres on May 24, 2024. The film was earlier scheduled to release on June 23, 2023, but Warner Bros. has moved the film to release a year later on the Memorial Day holiday.

The trailer of the film is yet to be released.
