“Elite”: Renewed for an Early Season 6, Netflix Reveals Cast for its New “Bird Box” Adaptation

Netflix fixes cast for “Bird Box” adaptation, “Elite” scores a Season 6 ahead of the season 5 release

On Thursday, October 28, Netflix announced several new projects that will soon come to their platform. Among the six projects are the popular Spanish show “Elite” season 6 and a Spanish adaptation of “Bird Box”.

“Elite” to get a season 6

No, Netflix isn’t tired yet with its superhit Spanish drama series “Elite.” Earlier today, the streaming giant announced the renewal of the high school drama for season 6. The renewal news has come even before “Elite” season 5 gets an official premiere date.

Further, the streamer confirmed three new holiday-themed seasons of the short-form spinoff “Elite: Short Stories” titled “Holidays Edition”. “Elite” follows the story of a bunch of fortunate high school students. The series gripples aspects like drug abuse, class divide, scandal, and more.

Netflix unveils the cast of Spanish “Bird Box”

A Spanish adaptation of Netflix’s highly acclaimed movie “Bird Box” is in the works. On Thursday, the streaming giant revealed the cast for the adaptation. Mario Casas from the thriller “Cross The Line” and Georgina Campbell, popular for “Murdered by My Boyfriend,” will appear in the lead roles. Further filmmakers Alex and David Pastor will write and direct the adaptation.

Also joining the cast are Diego Calva, Celia Freijeiro with Lola Dueñas, Gonzalo de Castro, Alejandra Howard, Naila Schuberth, Patrick Criado, Michelle Jenner and Leonardo Sbaraglia.

The new spin-off will follow the journey of Sebastian and his young daughter Anna teaming up with other survivors through the streets of Barcelona, desolated by a mysterious force that causes everyone who sees it to take their lives to reach a safe haven. However, they have to face a threat bigger and dangerous than the unseen creature.

 

Apart from these, Netflix announced a few other upcoming projects like the reality show “¿A quién le gusta mi follower?”, “Infiesto,” a virus thriller, and romantic movie “Through My Window.”
