The series is inspired from Bentley Little’s 2015 novel of the same name, where a consultant named Mr. Regus Patoff comes to save a struggling software company named CompWare after a supposed merger. But the man who came to be their saviour ends up being the biggest menace they had seen, after Patoff quickly understands the tricks of the trade and also seizes control over the entire operation.

He soon starts invading the lives of the employees as well. Things turn nightmarish when employees start dying in “accidents” or committing suicide. Every move of theirs started being monitored; even bathroom breaks started being recorded on video.

The Consultant is adapted by Servant creator Tony Basgallop, and WandaVision director Matt Shakman. It will be produced by MGM and Amazon Studios, and will premiere in Amazon Prime Video.
