Snowdrop’s story is set against the backdrop of the 1987 Democracy Movement which was a massive protest against the then-current authoritarian government in South Korea to conduct fair elections. The protestors won in the end and democratic elections came to be in December 1987, and the authoritarian rule ended.

Jung Hae In plays Im Soo Ho, a graduate student who was discovered covered in blood by Eun Young Ro (Jisoo). She nurses his wounds and hides him in the women’s university, away from the government. They soon fall for each other, but as the story progresses, dark secrets about Im Soo Ho are revealed.

Snowdrop will premiere on JTBC on December 18, 2021, and will start streaming on Disney+ in select markets.
