Rex Orange County Guilty of Sexual Assault?
Alexander O’Connor, better known as Rex Orange County, is in the news for all the wrong reasons. The internet was abuzz yesterday with the news that the up-and-coming musician has been charged with six counts of sexual assault. Though he has not commented on the charges, his team has released a statement saying that they are taking the allegations “very seriously.”
The assault has been said to happen from the beginning of June of this very year and the woman is assaulted six times by the singer. As close as it might seem Rex posted on his Twitter account the next month, July, about the cancellations of his shows outside the UK region.
Rex Orange County cancelled his tour
O’Connor had already announced in July 2022 about the cancellation of his next tour in Australia, New Zealand and Europe stating “unforeseen personal circumstances.”
It seems that the artist was in this chaos for a long time now and has been dealing with it without letting his reputation down. But as the case got clear and spread over time it is no secret to people how things got messed up for Rex.
Affecting his career field by this big blow, we have yet to wait until 3rd January 2023 for the proceeding of Rex’s Provisional Trail.
The sexual assault allegations
The allegations against O’Connor are serious, and if convicted, he faces some serious jail time. However, many fans are standing by him, saying that they believe he is innocent.
If these allegations are true, this is a huge disappointment. Rex Orange County was one of the most promising young musicians around. But if he is guilty of these crimes, he needs to be held accountable.
