Actress Charlize Theron reveals how challenging it was for her to play Megyn Kelly in ‘Bombshell’

The South African born actress Charlize Theron said she found it quite difficult at first while portraying the role Megyn Kelly (American Journalist) in the upcoming movie ‘Bombshell’. The movie describes some of the top women’s stories as they try to expose CEO Roger Allies over the allegation of sexual harassment.

On Friday night at Los Angeles, the actress said that this was not a person who was easy for her to wrap her arms around. Theron said that she and Megyn Kelly barely have anything common between them. Theron further told that she understands what each of them went through from a woman’s perspective. The actress also told that she has huge respect for each of the women for what they stood up and risked their life.

The role Gretchen Carlson is played by Nicole Kidman. Gretchen Carlson is another Fox News commentator. The role of Roger Allies is played by John Lithgow. The movie also features Margot Robbie as a fictional character for the story.


The movie is going to be released on 20th December 2019. In the movie Carlson(Fox news commentator) filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Ailes in July 2016, alleging that she had been fired for rebuffing Ailes’s advances. Several other women encouraged by her and followed, coming out with allegations of sexual harassment by Ailes.

Kelly later reported investigators that Ailes had made unwanted sexual advances toward her at the start of her career. Ailes denied the allegations against him. The former CEO died in May 2017, before the movie was announced.

The movie could be a great choice at the Christmas season.
