Spotify CEO Daniel Ek Released Memo On Joe Rogan Controversy 

‘Joe Rogan controversy’ goes on a new angle. After Spotify hosted the misinformation COVID-19 podcast and Joe Rogan’s use of the N-word in episodes, criticism followed them.

Now in the latest development, in the midst of criticism, Spotify CEO Daniel Ek emitted a heartfelt note to his employees saying how sorry he felt for how this podcast affected them.

In the released statement he said, there are no words for saying how deeply sorry he felt for the Joe Rogan experience controversy. And the way it affected his Spotify employees. He further added he accepts Rogan’s comments are hurtful but they in no way represent our company’s values.

However, Ek does not announce to take down Rogan’s Experience from the platform.

Daniel condemn Joe Rogan Words

Ek in his note said he condemned what Joe said and decided to remove previous episodes from the platform. Seeing the seriousness of the controversy and its impact he said while people want more than this but silencing Joe is not an answer.

Ek spoke with Rogan along with his team and after a long thought, they came to the conclusion not to remove his podcast from the streaming platform. As the show goes on. He added that Rogan too apologized for using the insensitive word.

At the end of the letter one talked about the difficulty of talking about these things publicly but he encouraged people to reach out to their leaders and HR for support and resources.
